Why a 900 mm width exists
900 × 1200 mm sits between the Euro 800 and the UK standard 1000. It is not a compromise size — it exists because some vehicle beds, rack configurations and production cells take three 900 mm pallets across where they would only take two at 1000 mm, or waste space at 800.
If you have never had a reason to measure, you probably want 800 × 1200 or 1000 × 1200. If you have measured and neither fits cleanly, this is why the 900 exists.
The base
Reticular structure with good mechanical characteristics, and a perimetric groove that houses the sleeve so the assembled box stays square under load.
The return leg
Sleeve, base and lid separate, and the sleeve collapses onto the base when empty. On a closed circuit that decides how many empties come back per vehicle, which is usually where returnable packaging pays for itself rather than in the outbound leg.
