Quarter Euro, light build
400 × 600 mm is a quarter of a Euro pallet: four fit a 1200 × 800 position exactly. This is the light build of the two options at this size.
Light is the right choice when the contents are not heavy and the box is handled manually many times a day. Every gram of packaging is weight an operator lifts repeatedly, and at this footprint the box is almost always moved by hand rather than by fork.
When to choose the reinforced version instead
If the contents are dense, if boxes are stacked several high when full, or if the circuit is rough on packaging, the BCLP401 reinforced will last longer. The light build is cheaper and lighter; the reinforced build survives more.
The Lite Box principle at small sizes
Base, sleeve and lid separate, and the sleeve collapses onto the base when empty. At a quarter-Euro footprint you are usually returning these in quantity, so how flat they pack matters more than at larger sizes.
