1100 × 1200 and the export question
1100 × 1100 is the standard pallet across much of Asia and Australasia, and 1100 × 1200 sits close to it while keeping the 1200 mm depth used in UK and European handling. That makes this footprint worth looking at when goods move between UK distribution and containers loaded to Asian standards.
Inside a UK-only operation the 1000 × 1200 will normally fit the racking better.
Base construction
Reticular structure with good mechanical characteristics and a perimetric groove housing the sleeve, so the box holds its shape loaded.
Container loading
At larger footprints, how the pallet fits the container matters more than how it fits the rack. A footprint that leaves 100 mm spare down the length of a 40 ft container costs you nothing; one that leaves 400 mm costs you a pallet position on every row. That is worth working out before choosing a size, not after.
Empty return
The sleeve collapses onto the base, so empties stack down rather than travelling at full height — the point of a sleeved system rather than a rigid box.
