A large tote at 800 × 600 mm
At 800 × 600 × 440 mm this is one of the larger totes in the range, and the footprint is chosen rather than arbitrary: two of them fill a 1200 × 800 Euro pallet exactly, with no wasted deck and no overhang.
That is the practical reason to buy this size. A tote that does not tessellate on your pallet footprint wastes space on every pallet you ship, every time.
Reading the inner dimensions
The published inner dimensions taper from top to bottom — wider at the top than at the base. That taper is what lets the tote nest inside another when empty, which is where the return-leg saving comes from. When you are sizing a product to the box, use the bottom inner dimensions, not the top.

Why 800 × 600 is not an arbitrary size
Two of these fill a 1200 × 800 Euro pallet exactly — no overhang, no wasted deck. That tessellation is the reason this footprint exists, and it is worth more than a few extra litres from an odd size.
A container that does not tessellate wastes space on every pallet you build, every shelf it sits on and every vehicle it travels in. The waste never shows up as a problem because nothing looks wrong; it just costs a percentage of everything.
440 mm is a deep box
At 800 × 600 × 440 mm this holds a lot. Check the filled weight against manual handling limits before assuming it will be lifted by hand — at this size it is usually moved on a dolly or by two people.
