Why five skids

Mechanically this is the BCH3 with five bottom skids instead of three, and 1 kg more empty weight at 14 kg. The extra skids spread the load across more contact points, which matters on roller conveyors and chain transfer where a three-skid pallet can drop between rollers.

Loads are unchanged: 1,000 kg dynamic, 3,000 kg static, 300 kg racking — still a floor-stacking pallet, not a racking one.

One kilogram for conveyor compatibility

The five-skid build of the BCH3, at 14 kg against 13 kg. Load ratings are identical: 1,000 kg dynamic, 3,000 kg static, 300 kg racked.

So the entire decision is that extra kilogram against how the pallet is handled. On forks only, it buys nothing. On roller conveyors it prevents a runner dropping between rollers, and on chain transfer it gives more bearing surface — and a pallet that jams an automated line costs more in one incident than the weight difference across a whole fleet.

Hygienic construction

HD-PE, silver grey, with a retaining edge. Plain surfaces that wash properly rather than approximately, which is what an audit actually tests.

Silver grey as a zoning tool

Colour is used on mixed sites to keep hygiene-area pallets visually distinct from general black pallets, so one cannot drift from the yard into a food area unnoticed. It is a small control that prevents a real problem.

Racking

300 kg racked means floor stacking, not beam racking. For racked hygienic loads see the reinforced BCPRO1210C5.
