What are the emission zone rules for this journey?
Wembley is in the London Borough of Brent, inside both London emission schemes, and the two apply to different vehicles.
Under the Low Emission Zone, HGVs, lorries, vans and specialist heavy vehicles over 3.5 tonnes gross vehicle weight must meet the Euro VI standard for nitrogen oxides and particulate matter. Note that the A406 is a red route, where stopping restrictions are enforced. Transport for London records that red routes make up around 5% of London’s roads but carry up to 30% of the city’s traffic, so plan the final approach onto the estate rather than pulling over on the North Circular.
