Hygienic meat storage
Beecraft’s meat crate has been specially developed for use in the meat industry and fulfils the stringent requirements of the EHI Retail Institute. The BCMC E3-ET Euro crate drains water from its edge and consequently provides ideal conditions for storing and transporting meat products.

The E3-ET crate
Developed for the meat industry and meeting EHI Retail Institute requirements, the BCMC E3-ET is the E3 size in Beecraft’s meat crate range, with drainage.
E3 rather than E2
E2 and E3 are different standard sizes within the same European system. They stack and wash on the same equipment, so most operations run both and choose per product rather than standardising on one: E3 where the cut or pack size needs the greater depth, E2 where it does not and the extra height would just mean part-full crates.
Part-full crates are the hidden cost here — you pay to move, wash and store the empty space on every cycle.
Drainage
Meat releases liquid, and a crate that retains it becomes a contamination and handling problem at every subsequent step. Drainage is the reason these crates exist as a separate product rather than being covered by a general stackable container.
Compliance
EHI Retail Institute standards govern crates in retail meat supply chains. Compliance is what gets the crate accepted at a retailer’s goods-in; without it the specification is academic.
