Virgin HD-PE, and why that is specified
1200 × 800 × 160 mm, 18 kg, moulded in virgin HD-PE rather than reclaimed material, silver grey. Dynamic load 1,250 kg, static 5,000 kg, racking 1,000 kg, with a retaining edge and three bottom skids.
Virgin material is about traceability
Reclaimed plastic performs well mechanically and costs less, but the input stream cannot be traced. Virgin HD-PE can. In food-contact and pharmaceutical work that distinction is the whole point — it is not a performance claim, it is a documentation one, and it is what an auditor asks about.
The racking figure
1,000 kg racked is high for a hygienic pallet. Most plain, closed hygienic pallets are rated far lower because the smooth geometry that makes them cleanable also removes the ribs that provide stiffness. This one carries a genuine racking rating alongside the hygiene specification, which is why it is specified where washdown stock also has to go into beam racking.
