Freezer spacers, and the money they save
Spacers designed for fast freezing. They save both money and time because product freezes much more quickly. Durable and washable.
Why airflow decides freezing time
A block of stacked product freezes from the outside in, and the centre can take many hours longer than the edges. Freezer capacity is expensive per hour, so that centre is what your blast freezer is really being paid to chill.
Spacers create an air gap between layers so cold air moves through the stack rather than around it. Product freezes faster, the freezer turns over more batches per day, and energy per tonne falls.
Washable matters in a freezer
Freezer equipment gets frost, spillage and packaging debris on it, and it comes out of a controlled-temperature environment into a wash area repeatedly. A spacer that cannot be cleaned properly becomes a hygiene problem in exactly the place where hygiene is audited hardest.
Temperature rating
Beecraft’s BCES freezer spacers are rated from -50°C to 70°C. That range is what allows the same spacer to go through a blast freezer and a hot wash without being cycled out.
See the freezer spacers page, or contact Beecraft with your product and freezer configuration.
