Recommendations for use
- Do not stack more than 90 pallets, which equates to a height of 4 m of empty pallets.
- Do not handle stacks of more than 40 empty pallets.
- Once stacked in height check that they are properly fitted.

What ESD material actually does
An ordinary plastic pallet is an insulator. Moving a load across it generates and holds static charge, and that charge discharges into whatever it next contacts — which, for electronic components, can mean damage you never see until the part fails in the field.
Conductive material gives the charge a path to ground instead of letting it accumulate. This is a functional property of the material, not a coating, so it does not wear off with use.
Closed, plain surface
The deck is closed and plain rather than open or ribbed. That suits small components and packaging that would catch or drop through an open deck, and it makes the pallet straightforward to wipe down in a controlled environment.
Where it is specified
Electronics manufacturing and distribution, semiconductor handling, assembly of any product containing static-sensitive parts. If your goods arrive in ESD bags, the pallet under them should not be undoing the point.
