Beecraft supplies plastic pallets across Nuneaton, Bedworth and north Warwickshire from its Coventry depot on Torrington Avenue, about half an hour up the A444. The range covers heavy-duty rackable, ESD and static-dissipative, hygienic and export pallets, plus pallet boxes and crates. Stock lines are usually with you next working day.
Nuneaton sits at the top of the Coventry and Warwickshire automotive cluster. MIRA Technology Park, out on the A5 at Higham on the Hill, is a few minutes from the town, and the enterprise zone around the proving ground has pulled in vehicle engineering, driver-assistance development, powertrain and battery work.
That mix produces a pallet requirement nothing like a national distribution centre. Volumes are small, footprints are mixed, and much of what moves is prototype or pre-production — parts built once, that cannot be re-run because a pallet gave way under a forklift.
Downstream, the tier 2 base spreads across Attleborough Fields, Bermuda Park and the Bedworth estates: machining, pressings, mouldings and sub-assembly feeding the plants along the A444 and the M6. Those sites run repeat loops rather than one-way shipments, which changes the buying calculation.
Development and low-volume build rarely standardise on one footprint. Buying a handful each of several sizes is normal here. We have no minimum order, so you are not forced to take a pallet-load of pallets to get four.
A homologation part carries engineering cost no packaging supplier will refund. A moulded pallet with a stated load rating and no boards to shed is cheap insurance.
Much movement here is building to building and into vans, not onto 44-tonne trailers. Nestable pallets and stackable containers cut the cube on the empty leg.
Once electronics or cells are involved, the question stops being what the pallet carries and becomes what it does with static charge.
Sites handling static-sensitive devices normally run a documented ESD control programme and define one or more Electrostatic Protective Areas — EPAs — in which every item that touches the product has to sit inside a stated electrical resistance range. IEC 61340-5-1 is the standard most UK electronics operations build that programme around. The point for a pallet buyer is that the numbers come from your programme, not from a supplier catalogue.
We will not tell you a pallet is certified for your process: that judgement belongs to your ESD coordinator, made against your own measurements. What we will do is take the resistance range your control plan requires, say which grades are made to work in that band, and say plainly when we have no match. The same applies to cell and module handling, where charge is one hazard among several and your risk assessment governs. See the polymers we work with and the sectors we supply.
Work down from the application rather than up from the price list. Three things decide it: whether the load enters an EPA, whether the pallet goes into racking, and whether it comes back.
| Where the pallet is used | Property to ask for | Why | What we need from you |
|---|---|---|---|
| Goods-in, raw material and packaging | None — standard polymer | No sensitive devices involved, so static control adds cost and no benefit | Confirmation that nothing downstream treats this area as an EPA |
| Populated boards and electronic sub-assemblies | Static-dissipative | Charge bleeds away in a controlled time rather than instantly | The resistance range your ESD control plan specifies |
| Cells, modules and pack assembly | Dissipative or conductive, per your work instruction | Charge is one hazard among several and the handling method decides | Your risk assessment and how the item is earthed in practice |
| Solvents, powders or a flammable atmosphere | Conductive, earthed through the handling system | The pallet has to form part of a route to earth, not sit as an isolated conductor | How bonding and earthing are arranged on the line |
| Prototype and homologation parts, mixed sizes | Heavy-duty rackable plus lidded containers | Protects parts you cannot re-make; no static requirement until electronics are fitted | Part dimensions, weight, and whether it goes into racking |
| One-way shipment to a tier 1 customer | Lightweight nestable export pallet | Falls outside the ISPM 15 timber treatment rules and cuts chargeable weight | Destination, and whether that customer returns pallets |
Our Coventry depot is at 209 Torrington Avenue on the west side of the city. Nuneaton is a straight run north on the A444, usually around half an hour, with no motorway involved.
One local note: neither Nuneaton nor Coventry operates a charging Clean Air Zone, so no daily charge attaches to deliveries within Warwickshire. Birmingham does operate one over its city centre, which matters only if your own vehicles run in there.
The Coventry depot covers Nuneaton alongside the rest of Warwickshire and the wider Midlands. Sites across more than one of these areas can go on a single delivery.
Yes, we supply static-control grades as well as standard polymer. What we will not do is tell you a pallet is approved for your process — that sits with your ESD control programme and your own measurements. Send the resistance range your procedure requires, the footprint and the load, and we will say which grades work in that band, or that we cannot match it.
That is one of the main reasons automated sites move to them. Injection-moulded pallets hold their footprint across thousands of cycles, where timber swells, warps and loses bottom boards — the usual cause of a conveyor reject. Ask your equipment supplier what tolerance the system needs and we will confirm against it.
Often, and it is usually cheapest once a loop is established. The economics turn on how many trips you get and how reliably empties come back. Collapsible pallet boxes and nesting containers cut the cost of the return leg, which is the part that kills most loops. We can quote the same load both as a returnable and as a one-way so you can compare properly.
No. Nuneaton and Bedworth sit in Warwickshire, which has no charging Clean Air Zone, and there is none at Coventry where we dispatch from. Birmingham operates a charging zone over its city centre, relevant only if your own vehicles travel in there.
Stock lines are typically available for next working day delivery to the UK mainland, dispatched from our Coventry (CV4 9AP) depot. Custom sizes and bespoke colours usually run to 2–4 weeks depending on specification. Give us the postcode and the quantity and we will confirm a date rather than a range.
No. We supply single pallets and full loads alike, and there is no maximum either. For smaller quantities it is worth asking about used and refurbished stock, which carries the same handling characteristics at lower cost.
Yes, from our Coventry (CV4 9AP) depot on most stock lines. Call ahead so the order is picked and waiting, and tell us your vehicle type so we can confirm access and loading.
Send us the load, the postcode and any static-control requirement, and we will specify the right pallet and price it.
